Guerin Cognac
Pioneers of Pineau des Charentes
At the end of the Second World War, Robert Guerin, a wine-grower in Chenac sur Gironde, started focusing on the production of Pineau des Charentes.
He was one of the pioneers who decided to take an interest in this ancient product (1589), even though its AOC ranking was relatively new (1945).
In the early 1960s, Robert Guerin’s children settled down and took over the family business. On the 1st of May, 1967, they founded the Société Puy Gaudin in partnership with their uncle and three other wine-growers attracted by the idea. This new organization allowed them to increase the value of their production by putting together technical means.
Today, Robert's grandchildren and even a few of his great-grandchildren, have taken up the torch, a magnificent heritage that they are keen to keep alive and evolve, including through their line of Pineau-based Vermouth. As the number one producer of Pineau des Charentes, they continue to embrace a philosophy that seeks out innovation, ultimately leading to the creation of the Guerin Vermouth line.
